3 Reasons Why I've Fallen In Love With Blogs (And Why You Should Do The Same)Marketers have been banging on for years about how great blogs are. The problem was that until recently I just couldn't see the point. Why set up a blog rather than a standard website? To try and find out the answers for myself I decided to bite the bullet and set one up in a niche I operate in to see what results (if any) I generated. What I encountered both surprised and impressed me - as a seriously results-focused marketer. But why? 1) Blogging Is Easy Building a standard website takes a huge amount of time and effort. Writing quality articles. Creating a template that works. Designing an internal linking structure that is both easy for visitors to use and generates the required result from the search engines. And so on. The beauty of a blog is that once it's set up (which takes less than half an hour) adding information is just so simple. I often come up with ideas that simply aren't "chunky" enough to turn into an interesting 700+ word article for my site. Yet when you have a blog, these "snippets" of information can come in very handy indeed and make adding content to your site a snap. Even better - no technical knowledge is required once your blog is set up. You simply visit your control panel, type your text into the box and click "Publish". Your new post appears like magic on your site - with minimum effort required. Even for a seasoned, experienced webmaster like myself this has a very strong appeal. Adding new content is quick and easy and as a result I easily find time to add content to my blog on an almost daily basis. Because of this my blog has grown at an incredible rate, drawing back repeat visitors, encouraging the search engines to visit regularly and providing them with plenty of information to index and hence attract visitors with. 2) Increased Keyword Density Because you create a range of categories and create posts *within* these categories you will immediately start to increase the keyword density of your blog for these important keywords. So, for example, a blog about bicycles could have categories such as "bicycle maintenance", "buying a bicycle" and so on with these phrases appearing regularly on your site and so making it easy to appeal to the search engines. 3) Easy One-Way Links There are dozens of high traffic blog search engines that you can freely submit your blog to. Also, most blog software (such as WordPress, which I use) will create an RSS feed from your blog, and you can then also submit these to all the RSS directories too. By submitting my blog to all these directories I was shocked to generate a Page Rank of 4 on my first index by Google. All this adds up to amazing results generated fast, easily and on a very small budget. I've fallen in love with blogs, and I suggest you do the same sooner rather than later. ======================================================= Privacy Policy | Site Map | UK Merchant Accounts | International Merchant Accounts |
